Register Today for our 2014 WAEA Fall Conference on October 25th, 2014 at Showalter Middle School, Tukwila, WA. Plus a Pre-Conference Party the night before along with our 1st Annual State-wide Teacher’s Art Show. We are estimating several hundred attendees and are purposefully planning an educational art inspired day of sessions, great speakers, amazing sponsors, vendors and more. PRE-CONFERENCE PARTY at GAGE ACADEMY OF ART on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24th, 2014 at 5p    Join the WAEA for a pre-conference party at Gage Academy of Art on Friday, October 24 2014! Join us from 5p-6p to celebrate our art teachers as artists exhibit at the Entry Gallery, followed by a wine and cheese reception. Directly after, join Gage teaching artists for free drawing and painting workshops from 6-8pm. Rejuvenate your inner artist through this night of celebrating teachers as artists!

WAEA FALL CONFERENCE at Showalter M.S., TUKWILA, WA on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25th, 2014   Come to Tukwila’s Showalter Middle School for a day packed with art educator inspiration, resources, and more.

1st ANNUAL STATE-WIDE TEACHER’S ART EXHIBIT    The WAEA is proud to announce its first annual, state-wide teacher art exhibit! Gage Academy of Art will be hosting the show in it’s Entry Gallery the week of October 20-23. There will be an opening reception 5-6 pm on October 24. The artists reception will be open to the public.

All participants must be active WAEA members. To participate, please drop off or ship artwork to Gage Academy of Art by October 20, 2014. If shipping work, please include ALL contact information (incl. phone) and all artwork label information, including title, year, medium and gallery credit. All artwork must be framed and ready to hang. Shelly Leavens (Gage Curator)  can be available the week/weekend prior to the deadline (October 13 – Oct 19) to meet with teachers for drop off if necessary. You can contact her at shelly@gageacademy.org. The show will stay up through the weekend. Artists may pick up their work to take home the week of October 27-31 from 10am-5pm.
