Info and Location of Next WAEA Meeting

Dear WAEA Members,

First of all, Happy New Year! Sending you heartfelt wishes for a great 2016 full of the arts. This message invites all of you to our first Open Membership Destination Meeting of the year. Details are below and we are hoping for a strong turn-out. You will also find minutes of the December meeting attached to bring everyone up to speed as we prepare for an exciting year’s journey with WAEA.

Plan on attending on Saturday, January 23rd, in Vancouver WA, at 360 Gallery, located in the historic Slocum house at Esther Short Park, from 10:30 to 12:30. A little bit about 360 Gallery: Gallery 360 is comprised of 20 local artists who provide a mosaic of artwork beautifully displayed inside the historic Slocum House. Gallery 360 offers paintings, photography, pen and ink, glass art, jewelry, textiles, and mixed media art. The Slocum House parlor features a boutique filled with one-of-a-kind art gift items. Admission to the gallery is free. After the meeting you are welcome to join us for a bite to eat at Brewed a downtown restaurant at 603 Main St. Come and get fired-up for an art-filled year and take a mini-break from the daily grind. Here is the address to help you plan your trip: Gallery 360, 605 Esther St. Vancouver, WA 98660 Ph: 360-693-7340

Agenda items include updates on budget, conferences, and future plans. We will be going over drafts of revised job descriptions (brought up-to-date to match our changing needs) before replacing former documents. Agenda and reports will be available at the meeting. If you would like to bring something to the table (e.g. reports or topics of discussion), please attend the meeting as another reminder will not be sent.

Hope to see many of you there! Now that the holidays are past, this will be a grand time for getting together with your tribe and hopefully meeting some new folks. Along those lines, we’d like to welcome in Craig Van den Bosch as the WAEA Elementary Division Representative! Welcome Craig – we feel so lucky to have you officially onboard. AND help us welcome in and celebrate our new co-president elect Mandy Hallenius! WAEA is so excited to have such a power-packed creative Board. Woot! Woot!

I wish you all a good week as you work to help all students realize their passions and dreams.

Best to all,
